For example, you could try “jane.smith2@outlook.com” or “jane.smith+1@outlook.com.” Finally, if you’re still having no luck, you could try using a different email service such as Gmail or Yahoo. Confirm That You Have an Active Microsoft Account

If your address isn’t recognized when you try to sign in, it might mean:

You accidentally typed your email address or password wrong. Check to make sure you didn’t miss any characters in your email. If you have a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, make sure you’re trying to sign in with the adult’s Microsoft account, not the kids’ or parents’ email address. Note: The adult’s Microsoft account is the one that was used to create the subscription. The adults are the only ones who can manage the subscription and add or remove people from it. To see which email address is associated with your Microsoft 365 Family subscription, go to subscriptions.microsoft.com, select your subscription, and then select Billing and payments > view details > Manage under Payment and billing options. You may be trying to sign in with a school or work email account that uses Office 365 for business instead of a personal Outlook.com account (which uses a different login system).
